Hi there!

Thanks for joining me here on the blog! My name is Jillian and I am a licensed esthetician in Minnesota and I am the owner and operator of Bare MN Skin Care Studio located in West Saint Paul. No matter where you are in your skin journey I hope to provide you with helpful tips and tricks to help you reach your skin care goals.

My introduction into the skincare world actually began with my first business, Jillian Maria Makeup. When I was 19 years old I earned a makeup artistry certification and opened my bridal makeup business. I was nervous and unsure, but three years later I found myself turning away brides simply because there aren’t enough weekends in a year!! I have always been fascinated with makeup and the power it has to transform someone’s look and their confidence. The colors, textures, and finishes of makeup had me in awe. It wasn’t too long after I entered the makeup artistry world when I truly realized how much the condition of someone’s skin had on my makeup applications. Different skin types and textures each presented their own challenges and with limited time and materials per service I began to question how I could make a difference in each client’s skin. The finished product always ended up natural and beautiful, but as I encountered more and more clients with different skin types a curiosity for esthetics began to grow.

To be frank, being an esthetician was never a part of my plan. I had always wanted to do makeup and be a professional makeup artist. That was my plan, so when I found myself googling the nearest esthiology programs I was weary. However, the more I searched the more my heart and mind were telling me the same thing: GO FOR IT! I enrolled in the esthiology program at Empire Beauty School and from there my passion for skincare and overall wellness only increased. While in the program I realized I had a desire to open my own spa suite. My history in the wedding industry and as a business owner gave me confidence in opening Bare MN (little did I know I would be opening a spa suite in the middle of a global pandemic).

When the idea of opening Bare MN first came to me I knew I wanted to create a space for anyone to find peace. I wanted to build something that welcomed all and focused not only on results, but on overall wellness. Bare MN is a skin care studio, but I truly believe it can be so much more than that. So wherever you are in your journey I thank you for being a part of mine and I can’t wait to help you on yours.
